100˚С @ NZX, Ara Damansara

Finally, the very first entry for my food blog after more than a year!

This account was actually created a year ago, but I never had the time to post anything, yet. Many pics of food had been taken over the year but no reviews were published. My bad!

(In fact, half-way writing this, I dozed off!)

Ok, enough said, let's move on to the main topic. I've always been a true foodie and love wutever nice food that puts the sparkle in my eyes and tantalizes my every taste bud. My partner in crime, Sue, is also a foodie herself who happens to be a "steamboat fanatic". So last Sunday, we decided to visit this place called 100˚С at NZX (Niu Zhe Xui) in Ara Damansara. It is a steamboat+bbq+teppanyaki restaurant which offers different soup base, such as Bah Ku Teh, Tomyam, Porridge, "Golden Porridge" (pumpkin + porridge), Spicy Soup, Thai Soup, Plain Soup, Curry Laksa, etc and around 20 sauces such as satay sauce, sambal belacan, sweet sauce, their special sauce etc (too many to remember)! The ambience was simple yet welcoming, and as we stepped into the shop, we were greeted with the strong aroma of Bah Ku Teh, which was enough to make me drool!

(I was actually looking forward to their BBQ food but too bad the BBQ area was closed at that time)

I personally like the concept of individual pots where you get to cook your own food in your favourite soup. Here at 100˚С, the steamboat is designed in such a way so that it is more hygienic and convenient.

Sue and I had a hard time deciding which soup we wanted, so I ended up having Bah Ku Teh (all because of the aroma surrounding us!) and Sue ordered the Golden Porridge. We chose the set meal for 2 (around RM39.90 for 2 pax or more) which came with a dish of free BBQ chicken (however, there was nothing much to shout about and the portion was little).

The one in yellow is the Golden Porridge while
the darker colour one is the you-know-what soup!

The Bah Ku Teh tasted ok, plus it reminded me of duck soup, so I was happy with that. I stole a sip of Sue's Golden Porridge and it tasted very bland, but it wasn't all bad if you add some sauce to it (which was what Sue said).

There's yee mee too (check out the smaller plate...
it's the BBQ chicken served free but only in a small portion)

I ordered a glass of Green Apple Iced Bubble Tea while Sue ordered soya bean. I didn't like the bubble tea coz it was way too sweet, and ended up asking the waitress to add in more water.

Green Apple Bubble Tea. Nice presentation,
but too sweet for my liking

Overall, it was ok. I wouldn't say that the food is great 'coz what's important in a steamboat is the soup, but I'll definitely go back again if I ever crave for steamboat with a different flavour!
